Exploring ways to improve how we design and analyze the built environment

I lead building performance simulation for Buro Happold's US offices — helping design teams use energy modelling and computational tools to make smarter decisions, earlier in the process.

Over fourteen years spanning the US and Ireland I've built deep expertise in whole-building energy modelling, early-stage performance analysis, and the systems and workflows that make simulation scalable. At cove.tool I built a commercially deployed energy modelling platform, loadmodeling.tool, from the ground up, and led a cross-functional team of engineers, building scientists, and software developers to bring it to market.

Along the way I've grown and managed engineering teams, developed training programmes, implemented QA/QC processes at scale, and worked directly with enterprise clients and C-suite stakeholders to connect technical work to business outcomes.

I've published at ASHRAE and IBPSA conferences on everything from net zero pathways to decarbonisation modelling methodology — that work is collected on the research page. I sit on the ASHRAE 90.1 ECB sub-committee, and I'm a voting member of ASHRAE SSPC 209 and the IBPSA Practitioner Committee.

Pease Studio is where the tools live. Everything here runs in the browser, keeps nothing, and exists because the analysis I wanted was either locked in a spreadsheet or locked behind a licence.
